Jolly Jacks Bar and Bistro

Ambition:

Increase Jolly Jack’s social media presence and support the sales funnel.

PR Relaunch of a Destination Eatery.

Jolly Jacks is an award-winning waterfront bar and bistro in Plymouth that initially needed ad-hoc PR and regular social media management support.

As Covid-19 restrictions were lifted and eventually removed, Harissa PR aided Jolly Jacks in navigating some of the marketing challenges pertinent to the hospitality industry during this period and reasserting Jolly Jacks as a first-rate destination eatery.

Action:

A fully cohesive digital PR strategy- because you can’t just eat good food, you’ve got to talk about it too!

Harissa PR undertook a social media audit and devised a communications strategy to support ongoing food and drink offers and Jolly Jack’s pop-up events, including live music and Christmas markets for new and existing patrons. We met regularly with the Jolly Jacks team to plan content and devise opportunities for marketing promotion.

We worked with Jolly Jacks to help build brand recognition by placing PR in local and food sector press. We also provided regular engaging content for their online communities on several social media platforms, including working with influencers, bloggers, and charities.

When Jolly Jacks was relaunched under new ownership in February 2023, Harissa PR undertook a PR campaign to promote the refreshed business, including press releases and aiding with soft launch events to promote the bistro to consumers and the local business community.

Result:

Cooking up the perfect PR: Reinvigorated brand profile, increased sales enquiries and partnerships.

Our focus for Jolly Jacks was to reinvigorate the business’s B2C and B2B profile online and within the geographical catchment of Devon and East Cornwall and convert this to sales and customer retention and development. We developed and fostered partnerships with charities, businesses, and third-party collaborators (photographers and designers) to support and publicise Jolly Jacks events, significantly raising the restaurant’s profile.

We provided bespoke and responsive social media content and online community management and increased followers, reach levels, engagement, and sales enquiry across its social media platforms.

We also successfully generated consistent press coverage and photo splashes in local publications, newspapers, blogs, and glossies such as Devon Life and Coast Magazine.
