Olly Lolly

Ambition:

A sprinkling of PR magic to grow the Olly Lolly brand name and sales.

Our brief for OllyLolly was to actively raise the profile of this eco-friendly ice lolly company, which specialises in handmade, fresh fruit ice popsicles. OllyLolly is a relatively new wholesale business ripe for a sprinkling of PR magic and an energetic injection of marketing planning. We aimed to build awareness of the brand with both consumers and B2B, using strong messaging about the offer from the client.

Action:

An integrated press strategy to build a regional and national profile.

We used a blend of traditional media relations and social media engagement to boost OllyLolly’s brand, targeting the local and national press, food and vegan publications, bloggers, and lifestyle magazines and maximising social media streams.

We led our press campaign with several releases about the client’s plastic-free ethos, being selected by Mitch Tonks to form part of his Rockfish Restaurant menu and the invite to sell to A-listers backstage at Glastonbury ’17.

We also promoted OllyLolly featuring in the Devon Cookbook and debuting their lollies for sale across London theatres, including The Old Vic, where the Artistic Director, Matthew Warchus, handpicked them after he tasted them on holiday in Cornwall!

Result:

Achieving top-tier press exposure and generating new business leads.

The response to our OllyLolly promotion was highly favourable for the client and achieved strong engagement with new stockists, consumers, and media alike. As a direct result of the PR campaign, an impressive number of enquiries led to increased business and a sharp increase in local and national awareness of the brand.

Harissa PR successfully placed several features in local publications, including the Herald and Western Morning News. Coverage for OllyLolly and their founder was also secured in Daily Mail, Manor Magazine, Devon Life, Coast Magazine, Crumbs Magazine, Vegan News, Plymouth Magazine, and Muddy Stilettos Devon, to name but a few.

Olly Lolly was shortlisted as a Best Small Business of the Year finalist in the 2019 Venus Business Awards and featured in ITV’s series ‘Good Mood Food’ with Ainsley Harriott and on BBC Spotlight news.
